Sunday with the 3Ms: mcd, mcky and movie

Sundays are special. So special to the point that it is almost holy. Usually I spend my holy days lazing around at home doing what ever I please (which usually involves alot of screens and food =). And once in a blue moon, I will venture out of my humble abode thus breaking the almost blissful ignorance of the outside world to lepak.

Last Sunday,I spent my sunday with one of my favourite people in the world. Someone I've known for almost all my secondary life. I remembered I first saw her during PJK class, this small but very noisy first former.. haha

Thanks angelin for being my tour guide of Mid Valley Gosh, I didnt know Mid Valley had changed so much in one semester! and assisting me on my quest to obtain a bag for classes. And for catching me when I fell down the steps in the cinema. or more like I fell, then you pulled me up.. wateverla thanks

Anyway, we watched Simpsons the movie. Yeah, THE simpsons which is moronic, stupid ,doesnt make any sense cause the people are yellow and marge has blue hair that defies gravitational pull.

Even the trailer is so ridiculous. Homer holding his pig against the ceiling going "spiderpig, spiderpig, does whatever a spiderpig does" isnt what I'd call normal. Or entertaining. its just plain... weird.

But screw it, its really REALLY good. The plot is mad, entertaining, and probably the most creative piece of cartoon I have seen in awhile. And refreshing after all the corny cartoon movie plots. And this is the first time I have seen so many people laugh like mad fucks during a show. Especially during bart's little unfortunate incident on his skateboard. oh. my. god.

Oh yeah, watch out for the snow white spoof in the movie. And the hilarious one liners. And Lisa's irish boyfriend.

Just watch it for goodness sake. Its so worth sacrificing a holy Sunday and eleven bucks.

Selfless me. Selfish me.


Sorry for the lack of updates. No, I have not died in duration. Neither was I harmed in any other way during the entire time I didn’t update. In fact, I am pretty fine with the exception of being extremely tired and rather busy this few days.

Have you ever been caught in a situation where you have been given the choice to make a decision which requires you to choose between being selfless and selfish?

If you choose being selfless, you end up walking around in self pity.
Then, if you choose being selfish, you end up feeling EXTREMELY guilty.

Today I had to make a choice between being selfless and selfish.
I choose to be selfish today.i am so not proud of myself now

The ironic thing is while I was having this huge internal war with my conscience on my decision, I have to be watching a show which seem to hang on to the whole selfish and selfless theme. Yeah I watched pirates today to honour my pledge to my classmates to watch it with them again this year.

I wont ruin your reading pleasure by divulging any spoilers here. uh-huh. Am I just so considerate or what?

Anyhow, with all the considering about the correctness of my actions today, I remembered a question someone once asked me before: About priorities.

If you could list down in sequence what would mean most to you now, what would you put as the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on? The choices : friends, studies, family,boy/girlfriend and cocorricular activities.Explain your choices.

Now this is a tough question. Considering that I, being a rather simple creature most of the time, have never gave much thought to such a question.

So what did I answer?

1.Family.
As they say, you can choose your friends and not your family. My family has always been there for me supporting me when I need them, never giving me unnecessary pressure on my studies, forever giving me as much freedom as I want, teaching me to believe in myself, teaching me to never set an invisible limit for myself..We quabble constantly, yet we hold as one despite the cold and hot wars. Somehow.

2.Friends.
Friends are family which we can choose. Its just so simple and complicated as that

3.Studies
I am in college right? So yeah, I should be studying like a good girl to make myself and my ancestors proud

4.Cococurricular activities
Well, the experience gained from involvement is good. No amount of reading chicken soup for the soul is equivalent to what you learnt from hands on experiences. That's all I have to say.

5.Boy/Girlfriend
Well, I dont have one. I suck in this department. So yeah, thou shall be place in the bottom of my list til further consideration.

Yeah, I think that's what I answered the person(s).

So what are your priorities?
And if being too selfless til it causes you to feel you are starting to lose your freedom and self, can it be said that you are selfish?

Its really hard to be selfish for yourself yet selfless to others at the same time. We always tend to hurt some people along the way.

Maybe thats why we love Jack Sparrow so much. He can be as weird as can be and still be so amazingly lovable. Be selfish and always get what he wants. Yet always seemingly be able to bounce back and selflessly save everyone at the end of the story.

Gosh I love Captain Jack Sparrow despite him having peanut mad imaginary selfs and his rather deaf conscience(s).

I just came back watching Spiderman 3 with my new housemates. Oh the drama! The tension! The fights! The beautiful plot is still fresh on my mind and the memorable scenes are still replaying itself again and again.

When I watch movies, I:
Play. Watch. Snip(memorable parts).Record in biological hard disk. Stop. Replay

Okay, back to THE POINT.

Yes, all we need is 3 words. And nolar, its not:
1. I love you

5. Oh my god!


Its "I forgive you"

Forgiveness. Its something we all hate doing despite all the preaching and the constant 'drilling' of moral values into our poor skulls. Somehow, is it just me or are moral values implemented through a stern glare, some scolding and perhaps through a century long lecture with a strong warning.

Something like: " Say sorry little kid or you shall burn in hell in your afterlives!"

How depressing.

Forgivenness is one of the hardest thing for most of us to do. Asking for forgiveness is even tougher. Some of us might even rather bite off their own tongues, murder an innocent herd of sheep or sacrifice themselves as Mr Hannible lecter's chrismas dinner rather than to say "I forgive you" or "You are forgiven".

Its hard to say sorry. As hard as it is accepting an apology sincerely.

But hey, if Spidey and Harry Osbourne can forgive each other despite all the "I will kill you" shit, join up in their effort to save Mary Jane thedamselindistess, I think we still have hope left.

And Spidey had forgiven sandman for killing uncle Ben, an act which i think will make even the pope feel humbled.

That is why we love spidey so much. He is someone which we can relate to. Cause he seems to be almost normal.besides all the web swinging, sticking to the walls and super villians trying to kill him frequently His boss is damn annoying, he has money problems, his ego gets trodden upon once in awhile and he rents a flat with a door that is always stuck.

Normal. Predictable. And totally relatable.

Spidey Vs Batman
Unlike Batman, he lives in a mansion. Has tons of cash so thats why he has a batmobile, batplane, batboat, batsubmarine which can be blown up by villians all the time and he wont feel sakit hati. A secret lair which has the latest technology. All kinds of cars.A bird for a sidekick sounds so wrong =p. A really really faithful old butler whose only purpose in life is to serve Master Bruce. He is rumoured to date catwoman, the original pussycat doll.And he doesnt need to work so thats why he can rempit around in his batmobile all night.

The biggest problem he face besides the villians is probably his stupid batsuit. So not practical la the costume. Cannot wear under clothes.

AND STILL that fellow has issues.



Spidey Vs Superman
Compared to Batman, superman is more relatable. Like spidey, he is also a journalist and looks nerdy with the spectacles. And kesiannye, he never seems to be able to find a changing room when duty calls. So the poor thing always terpaksa use phone booth. Maybe this is why his underwear was worn outside. Too rushed and cramped liao. Then people recognize him for the underwear and he has to continue with the charade, pretending that he had intentionally worn it outside.



But then,
He can fly leh. He is a handsome alien child of powerful alien parents. He has really black shiny urang aring hair. He can make time go backwards by flying around and around the world thats how he saved Louis Lane in one movie And he has laser eyes. Did I mention he can fly?

The thing I dont understand about his costume- where does the cape go when he wears it under his clothes?

Anyway, learn from spidey. Be brave and smile like a dork even when shit happens. Dont give up on your Mary Jane. Be faithful to your best buddies despite them wanting to kill you.

And yeah, learn to forgive.

You'll sleep better, breathe better, eat better and probably smile alot more. Dont be like Batman, letting a single tragic incident haunt his entire life. Despite everything he has, he still feels empty, constantly haunted by images of the past, always having recurring nightmares and waking up in cold sweat to a luxurious but cold room simply because he just wont trust anyone enough.

Dont let the burden of the past sit too long on your shoulders.

I have a resolution today: I want to learn to forgive people more often. And of course, to forgive myself. I trod too much on myself sometimes.

DeathNote-What would you do with the power to kill ANYONE?

With the mania surrounding this famous manga adaption, I started watching the anime version several weeks ago only to get REALLY addicted to it.

Why?
I suppose the main reason would be the plot. Catchy. Intriguing. Insightful. Mysterious. Dark. Thought provoking. REALLY INTERESTING CHARACTERS.

Deathnote.
What would you do if you had the power to kill anyone?

Would you, like Raito, deem yourself as an earthly death god?
Penning down lines and lines of death sentences in the name of Justice?
Doing anything possible to protect yourself?
Even if it means killing innocent lives in cold blood?

Then there is L, the peculiar sweet toothed genious who will stop at nothing to bring Kira to justice?

WATCH IT DAMMIT!

Gosh, I ran outta ideas on what to write liao. I went about the whole day with hardly (if any) sleep at all. I all remember is tossing and turning for a long long time..it was not that I was worried of my BM paper, on the contrary. When I finally closed my weary eyes,(which felt like a second) my roommate called me up. WTF. So I went to take my BM test feeling like a zombie.. (thank god for coffee and for the fact that it was BM and not MATHS paper). Didnt managed to get any sleep in the afternoon as well. Weird thing is that I actually feel very much awake then.

Which leads me to conclude: something is wrong with me today
