Mom's quotable.

"Assumptions. keep them to yourself, give people the benefit of the doubt, look beyond the surface. If people change, lets try to hope that they'll come to their senses and get back on track soon and if they dont, well, there's a reason why people change. the reason is called circumstances.

Be open minded. If the change is for the better, than embrace it. If it isnt .well, I suppose being friends we'd have to come to accept that things arent the same, you move on with life, and hope that maybe perhaps one day if you all suddenly bump into each other on the streets you'd still be able to sit on the same table and have a cup of coffee. Its not the end until you decide it is. "

(mk's mom, on friendship, 2009)

Mom, here my viewpoint on judging of change:

People should just try to put themselves in other's shoes before judging. before deciding what is black or white. what is right or wrong. because there are many things in life which are gray in color.many things which are neither right or wrong but more towards grabbing random chances and seeing if it works for you.

I dont know why Im suddenly writing about this, but i suppose everyone can relate to this. Coming of age, different backgrounds, different viewpoints, different lifestyles and being in different places. They all cause gaps between people. Its a gradual process. It was a conversation I had with her after this argument we had over the effects of shifting schools too much.

She sure did shut me up. fast.
All hail the wise one.

Oh yeah mothers day is coming up. Please dont forget and then go submit an FML entry on FML if your mom burnt your dinner "accidently". id have no mercy and click YDI (you deserved it).

Your life isnt fucked. You fucked it up yourself.

Okay, here's something you can do, try to think of something quotable which your mom had said/adviced you before and put it on your blog. Might be silly, mundane or funny, just as long as you found it memorable. Go :)

Damn scams.

Ok shall not be talking about myself now cause talking about myself makes myself do deep thinking and that will provoke myself to think, question and try to find solutions to problems I am incapable of solving, and thus cause me to feel unhappy.

People are often happier when they dont question the state they are in.
ohm.

Anyway, since me and my housemates have nearly been scammed by this bunch of people who claim that we need to pay for mosquito fogging which we all know is provided free by the government (yeah kinda silly to try to scam people using THAT excuse) i shall talk about the scams which I have personally came across.

Situation 1.
Monk in KFC.
First glance I didnt see anything out of place.
Then I saw he was eating.. a dinner plate.

Something doesnt equate there:
Dinner place=3 piece chicken+ mash potato+ salad+bun
Monks= Vegetarians.

Dont tell me you buy a dinner plate just to eat the salad+ potato+ bun okay.

Situation 2

Blind man walks into lrt.
Takes an empty seat.

He folds his walking stick up.
Okay. maybe he's making space so people wont trip. How considerate.

Then this hot chick walks in.
His eyes follow her in.
Eh? Coincidence maybe.

Then hot chick walks out.
His eyes follow her out.

Then few stops later he walks out.
Without his walking stick.

Everyone's eyes follow him out.

Ladies and Gentleman, did we just witness a miracle?

Situation 3:
An aunty just grabbed my friends arm and slipped a buddhist bracelet on her wrist and told her "Blessing for you... donation please"

*smiles, palms out*

Wow.
Simple. Direct. To the point.
(Not really counted as a scam due to the tactlessness of the aunty, but oh well)

Situation 4:
(again. not really a scam but i think its worth mentioning)

Old neighbour.
Well dressed. Looked like *nice* office people.
They fleed their home in the middle of the night suddenly one day.
Turns out they owed the loan sharks a significant amount.
Kaki judi kononnye.

I even remembered the couple smiled at me when I bumped into them a day before they suddenly shifted out.
I remember thinking "hm they seem nice"

Riiight.

This is why city people are generally aloof, cold and unfriendly.
If a stranger smiles at you they are probably gonna try to sell you something.
If a stranger talks to you, they are probably out to get you.

So we people came out with a solution to avoid such unfortunate happenings: we walk around in earphones and look at our ipod screens to block out looking and talking to others. And despite the fact that we bump into probably hundreds of people everyday, we dont talk much.

Reading between the lines.

______________________________________________

People tell me Im doing fine now.
______________________________________________

why is it
that i cant hear the words
which i yearn to hear
in person?
yet
why is it
that i keep hearing the words
which i want to turn a deaf ear to
all the time?

______________________________________________

They tell me I did fine.
______________________________________________

Some kids grow up because they want to.
Some kids grow up because they have to
.

Which kid are you?

Last year, I was the kid in the latter line.

______________________________________________

They tell me I will do fine.
______________________________________________

Screwing up. Its okay cause people screw up occasionally. I just screwed up more often than usual last year thats all. I shall not be stupid and tell you I shall not screw up this year, cause screwing up is human nature. I just want to screw up less. I think thats a humble enough resolution.

______________________________________________

So between which lines did you choose to read me?
Which lines do you choose to read the people around you?

Some would rather go with the huge words while some read the fine print. Those people who matter the most are the ones who have read your fine print.

And stayed.
______________________________________________

And yes, I do like taking shots of my feet/my shoes. Its an unexplainable habit of mine. No, I do not have a fetish for feet. or shoes for that matter. just in case you misunderstand..

Blast from the past.

Today i berbual-ed kosong with an old friend over msn. being a rather lousy friend (in my own personal opinion) and perpetually non-existent to her for the past year, i'd say im surprised having her layan me like the old times.

then it dawned to me.
like the old times is an understatement.
this person was talking as if yesterday was today.

as if past tense is present tense. it was like suddenly, i am transported to the time when i ran around with my too thick spectacles and short hair. when people used to believe in bersih cekap amanah. a time when people used to believe that anwar was gay and incapable (as in leading. dont get wrong ideas k)

sure i remember the things she mentioned. lets just say i have a memory as ridiculously clear as this person in question so it wouldnt be an issue if i wanted to continue talking about the past.

but i dont. cause i know what happened in the past already. i feel like i am forced to watch reruns of a drama i had followed before. damnit.

i want to talk about now. sekarang. xian zai. yi ka. how have things been. how have they changed. how are you coping. i miss you. shut up and please stop associating everything back to the past.

dont get wrong ideas, its not like i dont like the past. but reminiscing about it too often takes you away from present. no good!

you know, and i know. things have changed- they have to. its natural. we grow up a little. our skin gets a little thicker. we get thrown with responsibilities we dont really like. we speak and think a little more dirtier thus causing everything we hear to sound wrong. we hurt, get hurt and try to get over it. we develop weird sleeping habits and grow fat even if we eat half the amount of food we used to consume :(

just because i wear sissy color once in awhile, run around in heels and on certain occasions look like i fell face flat into makeup doesnt mean i'm incapable of being myself. i still feel very me.

opps. smudged liner wtf.

dont make me question my identity. i get that enough already from strangers. you cina, melayu atau cina melayu? pernahkan kamu ditangkap makan dikalayak ramai semasa bulan puasa nih? Takde makcik tapi pernah ada orang pandang aku pelik. aku malu. I am still me. and you are always going to be good enough of a friend for me. i hope its the same way on your end of the line. now dont make me feel awkward. shut up already.

......
....
...

if it any consolation, almost half my wardrobe is still black-ish. i still occasionally wear surfer dude pants at home. some habits are hard to kill k.

ps: angelin, since you asked, my inner ah lian name is mei gui. damn lame sorry its the first name i thought of beside mei lian. anyway check out the little girl in pink beremo in the corner throughout the whole video. adorable! oh yeah there's an english version of this classic song pls youtube it, its so weird in so many ways.

THE top reason why I still think Malaysia (masih?) Boleh.

Who: Avril. She Got Canceled!
When: 19th august
How: The PAS people, who else can be capable of such nonsense.
Why: Too sexy.

What?!

Comments: Seriouslylah, dont these people have other more um. important things to do? Like..RUN A COUNTRY? Fight corruption? Salvage our education system?

The top reason why I think Malaysia masih boleh: Because lee chong wei got silver in the olympics.

And you know whats ironic?

While Mr Lee was trying so hard to bring some glory to our humble bolehland, some silly people are holding banners and protesting against how unfair it is to let other kinds of people akin to Mr Lee into their holy university.

Shame on you people.
Keep Thy Holy Property, we see no need to stepth forth into it.

Bloody university teknologi mundur.
(credit: www.darnmalaysia.com)

You know what, they can continue to wrap their birds in sarongs and joget in nightclubs til kingdom come. While tradition is important, acceptance of changes is vital. And you know what they say about the theory of evolution: Those species that cant adapt will dwindle and eventually cease to exist. Extinction doesnt sound fun really.

Oh well.

Malaysia boleh!!!!

My prediction: Milo drinkers will soon find themselves staring at Mr Lee's triumphant face on their milo tins every morning. Vair vair inspiring stuff. Mr Lee Milo tins.

Disney Vs Reality.

Just the other day I had an old classmate who typed: BF wanted!! on her msn message. It really was brave. and hilarious. And really out of ordinary. Though really I dont think she had gotten the response she wanted. I mean, what do you expect people to do? Nudge you and say "pick me pick me pleeease pick me"

highly unlikely. Unless you are ambergoddamngorgeouschia. or jenifferohlookatmyasslopez.

It got me thinking, really. Its like suddenly everyone around me is getting attached or talking about getting attached or just killing themselves from the effort of trying to get attached.

Not to say anything, but I am really happy for those people who are really sincerely kepala over kaki over each other it seems almost fairy tale-like minus the corniness and random breaking into songs-ness. But there are some people who I shall not mention who I seriously question as to what their actual motives are.

Take for example: Here are some of the things I have heard before
"fat girls are easier cause they lack confidence"
"get a stupid gf, easier to manipulate"
"get a rich bf, preferably one who is already working, so he can pay for everything.'

Now if these statements are said in a happy-sing-song way which gives me the impression that the person is joking, I wouldnt have been so shocked. But believe me when they are said seriously, in a worldly tone as if they were divulging some sort of ancient wisdom ala kama sutra.

Like. What. The. Hell.

But then again, maybe I have been OD-ing too much on disney cartoons in my childhood that I am kinda oblivious to certain ugly realities which walt disney old man wouldnt want little minds to understand.

Think of all the possibilities.

Can you imagine sleeping beauty sleeping with random wrinkly old kings because size matters? The size of their phallus palace.

Or snow white waking up with a hangover one day only to find herself among seven naked dwarves? Heigh Ho. Heigh Ho. (Its a song sung by the dwarves, really! go google it)

Or rapunzel getting sick of random weird men asking her if they could hump her hair she decided to shave it all off and be a nun.

Or perhaps ariel's people are actually the byproduct of horny people and dolphins.

But then again I wonder, if disney were to incorporate real world issues into their cartoons and expose them to young minds, would things have been different?

Hmm. Despite my rare efforts to hide my random dirty mindedness and my slightly unusual way of looking at matters, I actually do find myself more saner than alot of people out there.

Which goes to say, with all due respect dear sirs and madams, I am a good kid who dont smoke. I drink but I have always taken great care to never get drunk. I know gay people but I think I am okay. Heck I am so good I havent even stepped into a club before okay.

Not to say I am proud of it and think myself as a superior being. LOL. And then take on an almost martyr-like disdain to other people's habits. Everyone's entitled to their opinions and beliefs after all. Who am I to preach?

But neither I am ashamed. But sometimes I wonder, if the level of ones maturity is measured based on how many times they get drunk, or get shagged, or by having such a great number of flings that they run out of toes and fingers to keep track of them, then I'd say that alot of people need serious therapy.

On emo.

We all had that experience. The one where you walk out of the exam hall, meet a friend who was lamenting non stop about how they were going to set an all time low failure rate.. only when the results came out, they passed with all the flying colors of the rainbow. And you, who didn’t complain even the slightest bit eventhough you had your insecurities and doubts.. did worse.

Yes, very WTF-ing.

I get frustrated at those who dramatize their perfectly ok existence. so everyone steps on shit from time to time. so what? it doesn’t mean the world is out to get you. excuse me for my lack of sympathies. I have none for those who purposely throw themselves into a pool of shit and try to make the world feel sorry for them.

oh shut up its not all about you. don’t you know negativity is contagious?

I am not comparing my issues against yours. its just silly to compare issues anyway. but seriously, lighten up. the last time I checked, aliens aren’t en-route to earth to kidnap our world leaders, an asteroid isn’t headed our way, the ice caps haven’t fully melted and pandas are still in existence.

Part of me died with my C drive.

I have a question for you people. Do you feel sad when your computer gets reformatted and you dont have backup?

I know I do.

A week or two ago, due to the fact that my cpu was making enough noise to wake a whole cemetery, my sister took it to the computer shop to have it checked and guess what, although the problem with my computer was that the fan was old and needed changing, they decided to be 'nice' and reformat my computer's C drive. To make the system run faster I think. Dunno lah I am an idiot when it comes to computers.

So in the end I lost almost two years worth of music. Of pictures. OF MEMORIES.

I am especially pissed about the pictures. Cause I know for music, I can always just redownload them back into my life. But each picture is precious and irreplaceable. For each snapshot captures moments and situations. Some can even trigger back thoughts and emotions. And try as we may, we all know we can never duplicate a picture. Each is unique, distinct and special.

Heres an example.
Thank goodness I didnt dump everything into a folder :)

Photobucket

Photographer: Me.
Models (from front): Char siew, kai shin, the back of mei leng's head, and a very very attentive Kat.
Situation: We were in the lecture hall before our management lecturer walked in. I was fooling around with my handphone's shoot mode (the one where you can take continuous pictures). Since we were bored, I talked her into modeling for me. And the above picture is the result.

Actually, there was this whole bunch of them ridiculous pictures but I didnt managed to salvage them cause I didnt managed to gif-kan them and save them in my other folder. Sniff sob sniff.

I am so going to print my pictures....

On the other hand, maybe I should get an external hard disk. Or one of those really really cool digital photo frames. I reckon that would be cheaper. =.=''

Damn I wish I wasnt perpetually broke.
Oh well, at least you all know what to get me for christmas/new year/birthday/chinese new year/valentines/hari raya/deepavali/St patrick's day

:) :) :) :)

Forget stuffed animals. I have so many I can start start a zoo liao.
Ps: A DSLR camera would be fine too.

Several things to go WTF over.
While reading the online news regarding the issue about hawker centers being demolished according to racial lines around the area where I often ate in wangsa maju, I feel extremely saddened. Wish it aint true anyway.
Firstly, because I think it is just really pathetic to hit out at other people's rice bowl. Especially when they did not incur any harm to anyone. Secondly, i hate discrimination in whatever form it takes. But reality of life dictates otherwise. Thirdly, I think there are more serious issues in life compared to some illegal structures of coffeeshops, like the crime rate wtf =.= And lastly, because now, no one knows where the people who makes the most awesomemest pan mee in KL ran off to.
:( Depressing news I know :(
Thanks to those who informed me anyway.
That aside, after reading the stuff, I went on to hit the link to anwar's blog. Tried reading it but attention died halfway through. Too deep and extremely political. Yawn. However this caught my attention.

HE HAS A FRIENDSTER/MY SPACE AND FACEBOOK PROFILE!
Despite myself, I LOL-ed.
This is ridiculous.
Somemore got smiley face in front of the word friendster =.=
And I checked, the profiles are real.. wan azizah is in the box where the featured friends are.

As a joke, someone came out with a friendster profile for mahathir. Check out his relationship status and amount of friends.

WTF. I am speechless.

Lets all send smiles to anwar on friendster and superpoke him on facebook.

Pursuit of happy-ness.
About Happiness TM.

Commercialism is really so rife in today's society. To the point where happiness can be marketed.

Think of it: Happiness has now become a very powerful marketing tool.
Ronald McDonald tells us that happiness can be obtained by purchasing a box which consists of fries, hamburgers and plastic toys.

I dont know about everyone else, but happy meals did work on me.. until I was 12 and decided that I was still starving after the meal. The toy did nothing to help with the hunger.

Stupid puberty.

And cadbury tells us to choose them, cause choosing cadbury means choosing happiness. *insert rainbows and cadbury's song*

Thankfully, cadbury still makes me happy. So I shall continue choosing cadbury wtf.

But come to think of it, ALL chocolates makes me happy. I just prefer cadbury.

NOW, Digi comes and tells us that we can be happy by subscribing to their happy numbers.

Hell yeah.

For those who are too broke for happiness TM, you can always dig in your storeroom for some happy glue*.

*Side effects include seeing mystical creatures such as pixies, fairies and toyols prancing around your garden and lee hom running around naked pass you at random moments of the day. If you're lucky, your teddy bear will start telling you bedtime stories wtf.

Dont we all feel happy already?

haih, sometimes I think the world is two fries short of a happy meal*.

*Please google meaning.

Understand: The things I cant stand.

Yes. More nonsense from me again.
Aimee suggested that I should try writing a list of things I cant stand. Hmm.

Woman, due to the fact that I am pretty useless at helping you out in your current dilemma, your wish is granted. lol. That is how much I sayang you. Cheer up k.

Dont think I am so anal to write a list up to 500 things I cant stand. But oh well, here goes. In no particular sequence, as its from the top of my head.

1. People who think they are too cool for chap fan. (economy rice)
I LOVE chap fan. Because it is affordable and delicious and you can choose your favourite dishes. Sometimes, it comes with soup! :) Aw come on things just dont get any better. Thus I have beef against people who think it is below them. As if getting caught ordering chap fan will render them to drop several caste levels. From brahmin to the Sudra wtf. Hello? Humble pie needed here. Big fat piece please thank you.

;)

2.People who speak in weird weird weird weird accents.
Yup, I am talking about people who speak in weird accents that sounds like a mixture of aussie, american, british and um.. italian. Stop. BEing. So. affected. And. Look. In. The. Mirror. You are asian.

3.Vain men.
Sorry. I cant stand guys who stare in the mirror more than me. Or take baths longer than me. Or make up. Its just doesnt make sense does it?

4.Girls who act vulnerable and stupid so that guys will do stupid things for them.
I've elaborated on this before. We are living in the 21 century come on.

5.HOT aunties.
Some aunties just dont dress their age. Short pants, spaghetti straps and blond hair is not cool when you are 50 and wrinkly. Dont be a Janice Dickinson.

Ugh. Fifty-something year old nunga-nunga(s).

6.Horrible kids
Some kids are so cute they just make you wanna pinch them until their cheeks are red like tomatoes. Like that kid in the Ikea commercial. "He's not getting enough sleep". So damn fucking cute. But some are so.. naughty that you just wanna tie them to a chair and push them off a cliff. Once, there was this kid who kept kicking my foot for almost half an hour in the ktm until I cannot take it anymore and moved away. Manatau, the kid followed me and continued kicking. WTF!!! T.T

7.People who just cant shut up.
Actually I have high tolerance for noisy people. But there exist some very exceptional people.

8.When people talk to me too much in the morning.
Sorry, but I am one of those people who dont seem to be able to be wake up until I wash my face in the morning. Any attempt to get any message to me before that cant be processed and everything will be incoherent cause all I register in my head is "balhblahblahblah yakyakyakkity yak bullshit bullshitbull.."

9.Lala girls who talk in kiddie voices.
Its just creepy and weird and going against puberty thats all.

10.Lala pictures with big big big eyes like the dog.
Creepy and weird as well lah. Especially if guys do it.

11.Those gothic malay people.
I know, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. But I dont get it. I really dont get it.

12.Pimped up kancil.
Those Ah beng cars that sound like ferraris. If I had to spend some serious cash, I'd pimp up a better car. At least got better trade in value. "modified kancil" can only fetch so much in the market.

hahaha. I saw alot of these during chap goh meh celebration in Klang!

13.Purple/green/red contact lenses.
I just find them creepy.

14.Gory movies
They make me queasy and sick in the stomach. Halfway through, I just cant bear to watch anymore. Horror movies are fine. But gory? ugh. Example: Saw.

15.That Botox smile.

Creepy laaahhh.

Vanessa Williams. I used to think you were beautiful you know. Ps: Your boobs look fake too. And very.. um.. compressed.

16.Paula Abdul's opinions
Does she even know what she is talking about anyway? "dear, you look so so beautiful tonight. Your talent, its just blows me away. I am humbled. Your voice, is so rich and have this... this..amazing texture " uh.. okay.. NEXT!

17.Those mat rempits who like to annoy girls by going "amoi!" and whistle.
Sorry not flattering. At all.

18.Brand whores.
Those people who go around telling people about their latest purchases from high end boutiques. You know what, I think they should just walk around with the price tag as well too.

19.Wanna-be brand whores.
Those who wanna be brand whores but cannot be cause too poor. So they opt for niki instead of nike. Cucci instead of Gucci. Amani instead of Armani. Somemore in bold HUGE letters -.-''

20.Sitcoms whereby everyone in it is beautiful.
I'd probably be killed for mentioning this but whywhywhy everyone in OC, OnetreeHill, Gossip girl look so beautiful? Yes, even the toilet cleaner looks dashing wtf. And their teachers are all so hot. WHHY doesnt that happen in real life I wonder?

Yummy!

21.PeOpLe TyPiNg LiKe ThIs.~
ItS jUsT rEaLlY ReAlLy AnNoYiNg.
NoW i Am AnNoYiNg MySeLf. HaIh.~ **// @-@

22.Websites with too much going on.
Multiple scrollbars. ugly color combination. Weird things flying around. Hello kitty cursors. Confusing.

23.Websites that bomb you with loud music when you enter.
Makes me jump. Cause I always wear earphones. Have pity on my poor ears people.

24. Holier than thou attitude
You know, the type who wave their holy books and rosaries at you during a debate. Walking around thinking they can preach to the whole world when in reality, they have tons of skeletons in their own closets to take care of.

25.Politicians who speak without consideration.
Malaysian politicians say the darnest things - everyone should read this book. Its really hilarious. (I read half of it already during my frequent trips to popular. sorry some books are quite expensive and I dont wanna murder my purse)

26. Couple blogs/those ppl who get overly affectionate on friendster profiles
There has got to be less annoying ways to declare your eternal love to someone. Seriously.

"**~~D3Ar D3Ar I lOv3 yOu FoR3v3R aNd Ev3r d33p3R tHaN oC3aN, h1gH3r ThAn MoUnTa1n, uNt1l Th3 sKy FaLl DoWn. M1ss YoU aLwAyz 'N' aLwaYs. mUaX. MuAx <3>OMFG! If I ever do this, please someone shoot me. Twice. Trice. Or until I die. Please. I beg you.

********

Wow, I managed to get to 26. Goodness I have officially amazed myself.

Cheers.

The Race.

“Ready.”

I sneak a glance up, looking ahead. The finishing line seems so distant. A fine thin line set against the blue of the sky. Visible, yet it seems unattainable.

“Set”

I shifted my gaze; I look down on the white horizontal line that runs in front of me. Then secretly, I stole a glance at the people beside me. Determination is written on their faces. They seem to be so clear as to where they are heading, where they want to go. Me? Sometimes I wonder too.

Nevermind, I shall try my best.
Uh..wait, theres a word for this in japanese: Ganbatte?

“Go!”

What? So fast? I am not ready yet!
Then again, I have never been really ready.
I might never be really ready. Really.

To hell with being ready.

I kick the sands behind me and joined the people in the race to the finishing line. There will only be one winner. And although I know it might never be me, at least I tried-by doing whatever it take to finish with pride.

^^

I know. Very subjective. Something I had written out of boredom sometime ago. Cant help to wonder that when we ask people as to how they are doing, we are also subconsciously comparing how well we are doing in each others eyes. Doesn’t matter the age, the race and religion, it’s a package that fits one.

Fact of life okay.

If kiasu-ism is a benchmark for an entry to hell, to hell we shall all go.

Ps: Not targeted at any one, just something I had in mind to write about for awhile. Kiasu-ism.

Sow the seeds of apathy

Yesterday, while chatting with a friend who is currently studying in the land of kilts and bagpipes about random things like the scottish hospitality, his girlfriend and education and such, we suddenly stumbled upon the topic which has been debated heatedly recently- Malaysian politics.

And you know what, for someone who has been away from the country for a year, he was really informed about the whole matter. Which I personally found impressive considering that a considerable amount of young local people dont even give a flying fuck about what is happening in our own dirty little backyards.

Instead they seem to devour all those hollywood gossip like it was laced with morphine.

Ask them who is our deputy PM and they give you a wtf face. Then the next thing you know, they tell you why should they care cause whatshisface najib has nothing to do with them (real story ok, I was mortified) Not some small fry minister, but.. come on la Deputy PM la wtf.

BUT THEN, when you ask them about whether bradgelina is adding more members to their little UN, or whether if britney shaved other parts of herself bald besides her head, or what J.Lo is planning to name her twins, they'll give you all the information you need in minute details. Enthusiastically. With a big fat smile plastered on their face.

Not that I am very well informed of the topic. Neither do I want to rub shoulders with them. On the contrary. However, I do take the trouble to read the papers from time to time and listen to my mom's constant ramblings about what she had read on Malaysiakini.com, notorious for their bashing of the local administration system. So I ended up walking around with the random bits and pieces of information stuck to me. lol.

Apathy is what I observed amongst alot of people. Sometimes when someone spontaneously brings out the topic, I see people look uncomfortable, flinch, look around distractedly, suddenly look interested with their nails and so on.

I dont know lah whether the apathy (tidak apa attitude) displayed has to do with our teaching since young-to not ask questions, lack of understanding or lack of concern for our futures. Maybe we are just generally disinterested people. Maybe we are just living in denial. Maybe we are just so bloody disappointed we just give up and save our precious breath and saliva. Maybe we are just gifted with huge tanks of thought but are cursed with gold in our mouths.

Maybe, I dont know lah.
Maybe could be anything and yet everything.

Point is: Generally, the voices of the future like to set themselves on silent mode.

Gosh its been awhile since I ranted on a topic like this. haha.

So Gay.
(not me lah)

Actually, I have alot of things to do. But here I am hammering at the keyboard at a very alarming speed. Starbucks assignment havent done, a test blah the list goes on... anyhow, wanted to write something about this for awhile lah.

Okay, today I present to you the entry called "Things men shouldnt wear cause it makes them look gay"

1. Tight T back singlets
I have shared this thought with other girls. And yeah, they do agree that guys who wear tight t back singlets look gay. And no, we arent refering to the white ah-pek singlet.that, doesnt look gay. If not, all apeks are also all gay lah.

I am talking about the tight fitting t-back singlets.

I mean, maybe some guys think its hot to wear something that shows off all that abs, but seriously, teeny weeny tight fitting singlets which are probably 5 sizes too small are not the way to go.

THAT, my friend, screams "GAY!" in every girl's face.
Might as well have the words "I am gay" printed in front of your shirt. Even that doesnt score as high a score on my gay-dar compared to the teeny weeny singlets.

2.Handbags.
Forget David beckham and metrosexuals. Guys who trot around with handbags of their own is just so gay. Especially if they trot around carry the handbag like a woman. Uber gay.

This is a MEN's bag. See?

Before all the guys dump away your billabong/tropicana/or whatver bags in horror and refuse to have anything to do with bags in the future, please understand I am talking about handbags. As long as it isnt pink flowery lacy and decorated with glittered hearts.

I dont care what the haute couture people are saying about real men carrying handbags. I still think they look gay. Ask any girl la, and they'll tell you it looks gay too.

3.White rimmed sunglasses
Okay, so although I do think white sunnies are really pretty.. but forgoodnesssake leave that to the women!

On women they look pretty. But on guys, they just look so damn super uber gay.

Please la forgoodnessake stay away from the white sunnies.

That all lah, I think thats what I can cook up at this moment. Its isnt much.. but unless you are gay, you'd better not try wearing such stuff. It'd scare all the girls away. THAT i can guarantee you 150%.

O yeah, here are some common misconception of what some guys think is gay but are seriously not gay.

1. Wearing pink
As long as it isnt glittery or lacy or have hearts all over the place, its not gay.

2.Wearing super tight flare formal pants
Not gay. but it only makes a person seem like they just dropped out of the 80s/lala zai/insurance salesman.

3.Wearing rings
My dad says men who wear rings look gay. And I argued with him. I told him the reason he says that is that if he wears a ring, he wouldnt be able to hook hot chicks when mom isnt around.

And he agreed! Tsk Tsk. Lelaki memang miang.

4.Earrings
They look cool ok! Not gay! But janganla stick two disco balls on your ears like cristiano ronaldo. ISH. Tak cantik lah.

5.Pony tails
Not gay. Tapi tak cantik also. Makes a person look like a mat rempit. Tapi para para Minah Rempit suka tau.

before I end this, I'd like to say that I have no prejudice against gays anywhere. So if you suddenly break down and confess to me that you are gay, I can still accept one okay? I'd rather you tell me you are gay then to confess that you are a serial killer cum rapist okay?

ISH.

Okaylah. If have anything to add, please tell me lah. hahaaha. I think I'd be damn interesting to know what people think looks gay and not.

Ciao peeps.

The difference between being here and there
Been there, done that? Hmm...

Looking at my past posts, I have came upon the realisation that hidden-mcky will eventually turn into a photoblog if I dont make some ammendments and start typing some stuff.

Its funny, thinking about it, first my blog is all words, then after getting my camera phone, I added pictures, then this obcession with pictures start and I end up with too many photo entries!!!

aduhai.

With all the discussion about Mr Astronaut, or some people might digress and say that he is NOT an astronaut (cause all he did was sit still during the launch) and label him as a cosmonaut. Even more humiliating would be the term space tourist, cause they say the goverment sponsored his RM 20 million backpack trip to space.

Our politicians must really love coffee alot.Hmm..

So many labels. So many names.
Aiyo. Malaysians ah, very confused bunch of people.

The thing is, sometimes we confuse ourselves with all the publicity about being there. And having done that. Even better is that we have done the task even more brillantly than anyone else.

Malaysia boleh! whee~!

But seriously, are we there yet? Not that I am pouring torrents of ice water on the topic, but there is a difference between being here and actually being THERE. Sure this is a big step, but the coverage had been so immense you'd think that we have discovered a new galaxie altogether!

Now hold that thought.

Perhaps it because he's him. You know, Dr Nescafe model. Smart. Handsome. Altogether, perfect model citizen from the surface. But sadly, not eligible. I am betting he will be more in the future. Does Datuk Dr Nescafe model angkasawan sound fairly enticing? His missus had better watch him well. And watch him well she must.

Malaysia boleh is what we are told to believe. That we can do what we set our mind to. Which is good. With wawasan 2020 driving us on,you'd think we'd be sprinting ahead other developing countries without even running short on breath. Wah...

but sadly wronglah.

We have been here. And there. And still we are stuck with the 'here' thinking. (with 'there' behind ahead) We take too much pride in our own achivements. Bask in them too long. Too vain. Which is too bad.

Sayangnye...
Malaysian boleh? Jangan terlalu perasan?

Living in denial

Before I proceed. Let wikipedia help me explain what denial is:

Denial is a defense mechanism in which a person is faced with a fact that is too painful to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Explaining done.
Lets continue.

Please people if you hate to read, please dont continue. This is going to be one of my full blown karangan like entries. So kindly click on the top hand corner of the monitor, on the little red box with the x if you arent up for some heavy duty reading.

This is a topic I had wanted to blog about for a very very long time. Yes, it has been a long time coming cause I just simply couldnt put my thought into words.

Maybe I was also in denial. Hmm..

All my life I had been faced with people living in denial. Now,if they were people whom I dont know and probably dont give a damn about, it wouldnt have mattered much would it? But unfortunately for me, I seem to have this thread of destiny which causes me to always have to meet with denial striken people.

And you know whats the worst part is?
They dont even realise they are in denial.

So how in the world can you possible tell them?

A: "eh, kawan."
B: "Umm.. yes kawan apa hal?"
A: "I think you are living in denial."
B: "Uhm... apa itu denial?"

A launches into a tirade of explaination

B: "No I am not! I am perfectly fine."
A: "No your not. Your just in denial that you are living in denial."
B: "[insert swearwords in all languages] Keep your opinions outta my life"

Denial. Its hard to spot but its there.

Its fine if these things happen to people whom you couldnt care less about if they dropped dead tomorrow and get eaten by a pack of hyenas who had been puasa-ing for a week. savage yes, but sometimes I think people are scarier than the hyenas which I just meantioned.

The problem is that I care too much. Probably abit too much for my own good. Even if the matter doesnt involve me, I get myself emotionally involved. I get moody, angry and sad all at the same time. Is it possible to feel so much altogether? Yeah why not? Unless of course you are the kind who have an emotional capacity of a teaspoon.

But after awhile, I have learnt not to feel anymore and play numb.

No Eye Look indeed.

But its hard to control yourself when you see someone who has made a mistake, regreted it, and still for some reason, is on the verge of making the same mistake AGAIN!

What do you do? Do you
a)Think "No eye look already, let them hurt themselves until they are contented. Maybe they are sadists."
b)Put on your wisdom hat and give them a preaching which will make mother theresa proud
c)Stay around with some popcorn and watch amusingly when the shit hits the fan. AGAIN

I'd say I am a frequent practitioner of option a.
I'll just prepare an umbrella so when the shit hits the fan, at least I keep myself clean.

Selfish yes.
But what if its your family members who are in denial?
Great! mei kay, just when you think you have a fool proof plan for combat.

........

Sometimes, I just wanna shake these people awake. Take them by the shoulders firmly and just shake shake shake.

Sometimes, I just wanna yell. Stomp around like a five year old and tell them I dont wanna friend them anymore.

Sometimes, I just wanna use all the contents of my rich dictionary of swearwords on them.

Sometimes, I couldnt care less.
Or I pretend I couldnt care less.

Tell me, how can you wake a person in denial?
but then again, the waking up has got to be done from within.

Haih susahlah.

Eh for those who are still reading this congrats la wei for reaching this far! My respect to you for even surviving reading up to here without even taking a toilet break or something

Or probably there's also another possibility: You are in denial that you are in love with me. haha! =p

As a reward you can feast your eyes on the banner I did today. Love it and I will use it to end all my future posts.

Step behind the yellow line
P.s: I have small feet I know. (Freak)

I now know I have many stalkers. People have been msn-ing me and telling me "eh I read ur last entry, dont be so mad la.. senior citizens like dat one. Always pms-ing." Or something along the lines la.

Goodness sake, leave comment la when you all drop by, scare people only when suddenly someone pops up and says "eh I read ur blog leh!" in class.

Yesterday, I was chatting with a friend who is undertaking his industry training. And he was complaining about the daily madness of the bitch from hell who struts around in formal wear and sissy heels. Also known as supervisor. Anyway, like any other bitches, she basically like to do what bitches like to do.

Hobbies include:
1. scolding people and making them feel like useless pieces of turds worthy of being trodden upon
2.brainwashing people to think that point 1 is correct
3.screaming at those people who dare question the two points above.

Let me get this point true to all girls: Being a bitch isnt cool. Look at what Paris Hilton got herself into anyway.

My point is: Be normal, be nice, be stupid, be boring, be a nerd, be lala, but dont be a bitch.

Anyway, I also told my friend about the english bitch of a lecturer. This is a snippet of what she said to me before and after the presentation:

Your written assignment is all wrong. You are quite a joker arent you mei kay?"

This is a thesis. Not an article. I told you article. There are rules. You didnt follow them.

Do you think you can critize a p.h.d's work?

I used to have a high opinion of you, now I am just very dissappointed.

Mei kay,you are a very irresponsible girl.

Hello, care I remind you that I am not the only one presenting? Its done by two people. Why am I bombed?

So what did I do.
I shut up and ignored her.
and glared at her throughout my presentation, looking unnessasarily fierce.

cause I know I made a terrible mistake of not letting her see the article beforehand.
Nevertheless, there was two of us.
So technically its both our faults.

haih.

Anyway, the friend above told me to let it go, he does that when his supervisor scolds him. He told me these people are alike, they think we all nothing. What to do?

But somehow, I cannot accept the fact. Let go cause we are nothing?

The word:nothing.
Its depressing.

Nothing is....nothing. We arent nothing. I am not nothing. We might not be geniuses and win truckful of nobel prices, but we know we arent stupid. We might not be beautiful and win Ms Universe, but we know we arent ugly. We might not have voices of angels, of sunsilk like hair, but there is something we are good at.

Point is, we are something.
and probably good at something as well.
We just need to believe in ourselves.
To take risks to know who you really are, what you really can do.

We have always been told to stand behind the yellow line. The yellow line- signifying safety, rules and conformity.

Most of the time, we abide and stand behind the yellow line.
Cause we dont want to die early from living in the fast lane.
But there are times when we need to step away from the constrains of the yellow line.
To prove to yourself and to remind yourself that life is so much more than following the rules blindly.
