I punk'd my mom on mothers' day.
Yesterday, me and my sis decided that what the heck, we are not going ahead with the traditional way of celebrating mothers day.
Cook dinner? She'd get a heart attack I think. Or bad tummy. Free child labour for a day? Did that years ago. Card? I think she's sick of the mess I make. Bake something? Already done that. . (yes ppl I know how to bake gasp.gasp gasp, Try me.) No, I dont knit shut up. Or quilt. Or whatever domestic people do in their free time.
So me and my sis got my mom THIS.
hahahahahahaha wtf her expression was priceless.
She was like "world best... dad?"
=.=''''''''''
After all, we did raise her expectations with this super pretty big ass box designed by yours sincerely.
Things got worst when we pretended it was a mistake
Me: "woi! I told you to buy best mom! Not dad! Why you so blind one?"
Sis: "But they look alike!"
Me: "Look what you have done!!!!"
Mom: (speechless while staring at the word dad)
Then we started laughing cause tak tahan already and gave her her real present.

Discounted CarloRino :))

Ps: We didnt get killed. Or grounded. She took it amazingly well. Phewww.

photography 101. camwhore 101.
Weather was too sweltering and boredom was getting too excruciating as well. Thus, decided to drag my sister out for a bicycle ride near home. Took the camera along as well since I figured I'd snap pictures when I got bored.

Best decision I made in awhile.
Didnt have so much fun with my sis in a looong time.
We have pretty contrasting personalities to put it simply.
and ah well blood is thicker than water lah.

:)

It was fun naming the pictures we took.

Bollywood dreams

The I wanna travel the world picture.

Candid shot whereby mei kay discovered malaysia and realised singapore is missing.

She then looked further left and realised Sri Langka has disappeared as well. So was the north and south pole. Which in the end she concluded that the map was a prediction of what would happen if global warming actually happens.

(ice caps from north and south pole melts and thus all the tiny islands will disappear into oblivion. happy news indeed)

My sis's suggestion is even more brillant: "aiyah, just add a pebble to represent singapore lah"

It kinda sounds sad.

The emo kid picture.

She calls this the "I am perasan" picture.

Lakeside pictures

Balancing is so not in our genes.

Last but not least, my favourite picture of ourselves. Kay and Yin. :)

This will be the first part since I am kinda tired. Second part-scenary photography.

I love taking pictures lah. Haih some one please sponsor me a DSLR!! I promise I shall be nice. I might even refrain from swearing and stop consuming coffee for half a year :)

wah you are serious.

Okayla, this post will feature the camwhoring antics of Sam. Sorryla if you are disappointed, but if you know me well enough, you'd figure that it is impossible for me to be a camwhore queen anyway. A picture or two would be fine, but I am not narcissistic.

Anyway, why the sudden entry dedication to Sam? Well, yesterday marks the 3rd year we adopted her from scpa. So yeah, technically its her birthday!

=)

Can you spot the very vain bitch?

Furry paws.

That idiot still cant tell which paw is left or right no matter how many times we try to teach her.

emo buddy.

*sniff. Yeahla, my sister is one big bully. Thats why my dog goes all emo and attempts to bite my sisters ass sometimes. (seriously)

Melty look. We have learnt that this normally means that she is hungry.

Its been three years.
Gosh, the puppy we took back home has now turned into this big lump of laziness/greediness.

haih. What have we done?

Of Rituals, Traditions and Pretty lights!

Rituals and traditions.
A ritual is a habitual or routined action which is carried out in a set matter.
A tradition is a continuous handling down of cultural practice and beliefs.

Thus,it is my family's ritual to carry on the tradition of visiting a temple every CNY =)

yes, picture above is me practicing the fine art of ang pow giving with Sam. No, I am not getting married anytime soon xy!

If we werent back in Taiping or Penang visiting relatives, my family members would habitually wake up late in the morning, say our greetings, eat a combo of breakfast and lunch before heading off to a temple in Seputeh.

Since last year though, we decided to visit Dong Zen temple which is convieniently located near to our house. Afterall, Banting is located just a mere 30 minutes away
from Klang. If you havent been there, you seriously should, even if you arent a buddhist.heck, I just saw two malay couples there, angmoh tourists and some Indian families

The place is beautiful. In fact, if you have been watching the news, or like me, half listening to it, you'd notice some local big shot officiated something there recently. It is even a tourist attraction with all the tour buses stopping there regularly.

Location: Jenjarom > Banting > Selangor

Not convienced? Here are some eye candy to support my hypothesis.

The pagoda

Main attraction this year: the 12 zodiacs somehow I cant find the cow -.-' click on image to see bigger size

"why did the rooster climb the roof?"

I look stupid. I need to stop being so vain. Focus on the pink bunny.

Lanterns are all made by kids with greeting cards attached to them. see the little card dangling under the lanterns?

This eleven year old kid wishes everyone happy chinese new year and all the best in their studies. aw...

No fucking idea what a Lumbini is. The place is full of little monks and flowers though. cute!

This statue of buddha moves! It kinda pops outta this lotus.. slowly.

One of the many halls

The main hall is so shiny..

Man to wishing tree: I wish for a pretty wife who will cook me 8 course meals everyday-every meal, 10 kids to start a football team, bill gates's paycheck, istana negara to live in, a whole fleet of lamborginis, a private jet...

dark againts the light.

The birds are like.. everywhere. Be sure to spot them!

The Dharma school with a rather interesting picture.Dunno why so many ppl like to take picture with the girl in the picture though

They even have a mini pasar malam set outside.Didnt bother to take pictures.
Weird vendors though.
There is one set up by the tax department just right opposite the temple. like yeah, people will come out of the temple and go.. "oh, I have sinned so much, from now onwards, I shall NEVER evade tax." wtf-ness!!

This entry is turning out to be longer than I have expected. If you have actually read so far without skipping a line or a picture, Kudos to you for reaching so far, give yourself a pat on your shoulder on my behalf. Thanks =)

goodnight and may you be blessed with 'quality' ang pows!!

Baby Armani Mickey

A random fact: The above nickname is currently used as my nickname on msn. Yes, it sounds materialistic. And No, I do not fancy Armani. For one, I do not have enough money. Secondly, I find people who are slaves to certain brands are actually lacking in individualism.

I choose the nickname baby armani because of a certain magazine cover me,aimee,cy and xy show during one of own trips to MPH. Heck, the baby on the magazine cover was wearing ARMANI for crissake. So all of us were ranting about how unfair life is, how come a few months old baby gets to wear armani and we wear pasar malam stuff?? haha.. stupid really. Jealous of a baby

So yeah, today, I will post pictures of a baby who didnt wear armani, but instead wears pasar malam stuff thus making her hold a secret desire to be THE baby armani on the magazine cover many years later.

Yeah, I am taking about myself.
Here are my baby pictures =)

First steps

My susu putih sister and cuppuchino colored me

Sorry about my temporary hiatus status. it rhymes!~~
It's just that new semester is starting to kick in. And I think things will start getting more challenging soon enough with the co curricular activities and all.

Don't worry your pretty heads about it. I already have an articulate, intricate and ingenious master plan in my head to handle all the madness. AND it does involve me doing my homework.

NOT that I haven't tried to blog. I've tried. TRICE bloodyhell.
Screw blogger. Type half way, post does a houdini act.

Today, I wanna blog about serendipity.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
no no no, not this one!

Serendipity.
A very long and sometimes confusing word to describe something good which happened accidentally. Also a very very pretty word. Say it the right way and it’ll sound like a French swearing. you’ll never know if they are swearing, everything sounds so good!

Several days ago, my very bemused dad came back from his ex-colleague's nephew's wedding yes, I know, wtf-ness!. He then became VERY VERY talkative. normally also very noisy, but that night, it was really abnormal

So he was like : “ Omg. Guess who I saw at my colleague’s nephew’s wedding?”
Me : Dunno, don’t wanna guess.
Very amused dad : Guess!!! *grins like an ass*
Me : er.. Datuk Zakaria? Datuk K? Sammy Vellu? Dr M? Abdullah?
Agong?
Not so amused liao : MY OLD SCHOOL MATES la!

OH. MY. GAWD.

What are the chances you meet your old school mates from some thirty odd years back from TAIPING in some ex-colleague’s nephew’s wedding in KLANG?

I’ve done the math.
Yes, it’s almost nil.

Thus how can this be explained?
Fate suddenly become mischievous and decides to play a joke on you.
THUS, SERENDIPITY.

Needless to say, my dad had a lot to say about his now bespectacled and balding high school comrades.

“ WAH, look at Lim now! From the front I thought he looked pretty okay. Manatau, look behind the head all botak!! “ *cracks into evil laughter*
“ Last time that fella look like a stick, now look like oil drum o.0”

Then he proceeded to get me to log on to this website his classmates started. now old men also high tech liao eh?. AND they had pictures. Loads of them! With many stick thin boys with their extremely fierce looking teachers donning the bee hive hairstyle. SO ADORABLE!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
In case you are wondering..

Then my dad started to tell me about the fate of each stick thin little boy.

“This one, pushing drugs in pharmacy”
“This one, went into drugs, entered rehabilitation. Got a girl pregnant at 19.”
“This one, lawyer now”
“This one, died”
“This one, married qin kam of a timber tycoon . Drove a benz at 21. Father in-law’s”
“This one, missing in Australian outback”

Looking at the pictures of these fresh faced young boys, its pretty hard to imagine that although they had shared the similar fate of going to the same school many years ago, each and every one of them had chosen very different paths to walk in their adulthood. Each had found their place in society and now have very different tales to tell. Most are now fathers. All are almost bald.

Will I be doing the same thing as my dad in some thirty something years in the future?
Relating the fate of my classmates to a younger one? If so, I hope they all will do well, so I can say:

This one, now a famous director in Hollywood.
This one, become datuk.
This one, singer in Taiwan.
This one, running for prime minister.
This one, head of Disney corp.
This one, first Malaysian in space.

Small incidents such as this can sometimes get us thinking huh?
