Sorry about my temporary hiatus status. it rhymes!~~
It's just that new semester is starting to kick in. And I think things will start getting more challenging soon enough with the co curricular activities and all.

Don't worry your pretty heads about it. I already have an articulate, intricate and ingenious master plan in my head to handle all the madness. AND it does involve me doing my homework.

NOT that I haven't tried to blog. I've tried. TRICE bloodyhell.
Screw blogger. Type half way, post does a houdini act.

Today, I wanna blog about serendipity.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
no no no, not this one!

Serendipity.
A very long and sometimes confusing word to describe something good which happened accidentally. Also a very very pretty word. Say it the right way and it’ll sound like a French swearing. you’ll never know if they are swearing, everything sounds so good!

Several days ago, my very bemused dad came back from his ex-colleague's nephew's wedding yes, I know, wtf-ness!. He then became VERY VERY talkative. normally also very noisy, but that night, it was really abnormal

So he was like : “ Omg. Guess who I saw at my colleague’s nephew’s wedding?”
Me : Dunno, don’t wanna guess.
Very amused dad : Guess!!! *grins like an ass*
Me : er.. Datuk Zakaria? Datuk K? Sammy Vellu? Dr M? Abdullah?
Agong?
Not so amused liao : MY OLD SCHOOL MATES la!

OH. MY. GAWD.

What are the chances you meet your old school mates from some thirty odd years back from TAIPING in some ex-colleague’s nephew’s wedding in KLANG?

I’ve done the math.
Yes, it’s almost nil.

Thus how can this be explained?
Fate suddenly become mischievous and decides to play a joke on you.
THUS, SERENDIPITY.

Needless to say, my dad had a lot to say about his now bespectacled and balding high school comrades.

“ WAH, look at Lim now! From the front I thought he looked pretty okay. Manatau, look behind the head all botak!! “ *cracks into evil laughter*
“ Last time that fella look like a stick, now look like oil drum o.0”

Then he proceeded to get me to log on to this website his classmates started. now old men also high tech liao eh?. AND they had pictures. Loads of them! With many stick thin boys with their extremely fierce looking teachers donning the bee hive hairstyle. SO ADORABLE!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
In case you are wondering..

Then my dad started to tell me about the fate of each stick thin little boy.

“This one, pushing drugs in pharmacy”
“This one, went into drugs, entered rehabilitation. Got a girl pregnant at 19.”
“This one, lawyer now”
“This one, died”
“This one, married qin kam of a timber tycoon . Drove a benz at 21. Father in-law’s”
“This one, missing in Australian outback”

Looking at the pictures of these fresh faced young boys, its pretty hard to imagine that although they had shared the similar fate of going to the same school many years ago, each and every one of them had chosen very different paths to walk in their adulthood. Each had found their place in society and now have very different tales to tell. Most are now fathers. All are almost bald.

Will I be doing the same thing as my dad in some thirty something years in the future?
Relating the fate of my classmates to a younger one? If so, I hope they all will do well, so I can say:

This one, now a famous director in Hollywood.
This one, become datuk.
This one, singer in Taiwan.
This one, running for prime minister.
This one, head of Disney corp.
This one, first Malaysian in space.

Small incidents such as this can sometimes get us thinking huh?

Speak now or face eternal damnation

UGH.

This issue is so ridiculous that if I don't blog about it, I'd be cursed to an eternity of DAMNATION. It's so ridiculous that it'll make Madonna running off with a Malawian child WITHOUT following the proper procedures seem like a streak of PURE GENIOUSITY.

TELL ME, which college officials are so brain dead that they would BAN MUSIC SOCIETY??!

Let me rephrase that: MUSIC SOCIETY WEIIII!!!! Not PORN society. Or GAY/LESBIAN club (or anything of that nature)

Apparently, they frown upon music classes bacause they are worried that the tutors might rape or molest their students during classes. What the fuck!!Just because we are adolescents and have high levels of hormones, don't simply assume we are a bunch of hot-blooded horny idoits who are in a rat race to lose our virginity in a record time frame. Some of us has more pride and dignity thank you very much! HAVE SOME FAITH IN YOUR FUTURE PLEASE MY DEARS.

So the founders of the club took the club outside and decided to conduct the lessons outside of the college WITHOUT the college's approval. Kudos to their spirit and determination!

BUT THE LEVEL STUPIDITY OF THE WHOLE INCIDENT IS JUST MIND BLOWING! How can they make such an oxymoronic decision?!

Music. It's healthy. It heals the soul. It bridges racial AND creed borders. Dammit, it's a language of itself. Without music life would be unfair.

AND THEY WANNA BAN IT??!

Can you imagine if Beethoven's parents BANNED him from playing any musical intruments? Will the world have his marvellous symphonies? NO.
Or perhaps if Mozart suffered the same fate as Beethoven, then die la. No classical music anymore. And thus, Disney movies will lose its 'magic'. Humanity will lose it's well... humanity.

Imagine life without music

> Movies will be utterly boring without background themes. Imagine High School Musical without well.. music! (actually, its not so bad when i think about it.. hmm)

> The radio will not be popularized. Thus, if radios are not really popular, then it'll not lead to the invention of the television. No television= No sattelites. No sattelites=No ASTRO!!!

> Drool worthy rockstars will remain undiscovered. Humanity will not be able to UNDERSTAND the greatness of Mike Shinoda, SEE Brandon Boyd gorgeous abs, FAINT over Bon Jovi's smile and etc etc

> Festivities will be so boring that people might not see a reason to celebrate anything AT ALL. Needless, say goodbye to dances. Say goodbye to culture.

> Humanity will decend into an age of chaos due to the lack of proper ways to channel their anger.

> Handphones will not have ringtones. They will one mode AND ONLY ONE MODE. VIBRATE.

> There's nothing for people to sing/hum along to the shower! 0.o

My point is?
Music is quite an understated part of our lives. It's irreplacable. Undeniably important. It pumps life into us when our spirit is dying.

WHY BAN?!

pToday has been quite an eventful day.

Although things are slightly different now and I hang out with a whole new bunch of people most of the time, truth is, its just not the same when I hang out with you guys.

We've been through so much up and downs/ thick and thin together. Spent too many countless hours stuck with each other. SURVIVED our weekly agonizing perhimpunans. Burst out laughing over the most stupid-est things. Genuinely accepted me for as I am. Forgave me for the stupid things I did. Stood by me when things get tough.

Although I haven't really realised it much, I MISS YOU PEOPLE.
Your uniqueness is simply irreplacable. Just unforgettable. Too lovable.

I'm thankful that i'm lucky enough to have you guys in my life.
And I hope that in 10/20/30/40 years down the road, things will also stay the same way.

I'm seriously too tired to think of anything to type now. So here are some icons which I have randomly stole within these few months.

A very atas post

The very atas conversation going on in my very atas chatbox have inspired me to blog about.. what else? ATAS PEOPLE

In mei kay's dictionary atas is

Atas (adj)

High class.People who think they are more sophisticated then us and are not afraid to show it. Walks with a 90 darjah tilt. Very inclined to look down on others in addition of prepping themselves up with the latest designer gear. Speaks with an affected slang which sounds like a mixture of american/british/australian/new zealand. In other words, doesn't quite sound like anything. Favourite pastimes include belittling and comparing our country to other more advanced countries. Likes to be seen in chic and upper class neighbourhoods. Would rather drink longkang water then to be seen eating at a hawker center or a mamak stall.

Like the Lala species in our country, these people have their own territories. yes, they are proud territorial creatures.

Fact file of the atas species

Take that you atas people!! HAHA!!

When kawaii gets scary

Happy slightly Belated birthday xy!! Sorry I couldn't sms you. Digi is throwing a magnificent tantrum at me lately. I'm so pissed that I don't even wanna waste my youth typing about it -.-'

Anyway, for all that matters, you are now 17!! You don't turn 17 everyday. So enjoy yourself. Stuff yourself silly with ketupat and muruku. Start a 24 hour anime marathon. Bathe in Cadbury chocolate. Rob bank negara. Run around naked around Sri Pentas. The choice is yours :)

Today, while watching "I Guess", an extreamly popular taiwan show, I was shocked when they had this segment where they had several women with voices that would make chip and dale proud.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Chip and Dale

Gosh. Not only did they sound child-like. They even dressed/walked/stand/pose in a child-like way. It's scary. WHY THE HELL DO YOU WANT TO DRESS UP AS A LOLITA DOLL WHEN YOU ARE 21??!! gatal huh?

I was so freaked out that I actually abandoned my packet of chicken rice to stare and gasp at the tv screen.

As I know, this phenomena started once upon a time in Japan. Men started to develop preference for women who acted naive and innocent. I suppose they think it shows purity and virganality. UGH! such a sick fetish!

Thus the birth or the "kawaii" culture. AND then it spread. From Japan it took taiwan by storm and even friendster!! aduhai. Now malaysia also getting hit by the "kawaii" fever. Not convienced? talk a stroll down Sungai Wang and see for yourself. Or Tar college. Even guys also get affected. I once saw a guy in college in full "lala" regelia. 0.o !!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Dammit! Look at me when i am acting cute!!

what is lala?

lala (n, pl)
is a slang used to describe the dressing up of a person which is highly influenced by the japanese street fashion. preferably one that wears clothes that screams ohlookiamcute

Thankfully, its just the dressing up and not acting like a nine year old like the freaky girls in "I Guess" that is happening here. But we do have many girls who abuse the word "ke ai" (cute) to the max. Ask them to describe anything that is pleasant or pretty or nice and they'll tell you.... what else? "how ke ai wor"(oh so cute!) aduhai. Don't these people have other words that they can use in their dictionary?

"ke ai" is just as overly used as the word "basically"

And apparently, I have typed much more then I had originally intended. My fingers hurt and i need sleep. Once again, happy birthday xy! :)

double posting : because I can't sleep

Had my first Bahasa Malaysia lesson today. Damn mou-liew. WHY WHY WHY do we have to learn BM when all of us can speak and write pretty fine?

Groom us all to be future MP-s issit? if you haven't heard, they are discussing that ONLY our beloved national languange can be used in the parliment. What happened to the multi-ligual, multi-racial image we had going on? Sometimes, I get confused. Next thing you know, fellow MP-s need to present their ideas in a syair or pantun. Lagi tradisional.

EXAMPLE

" Burung merak diatas bumbung.
Tanah padi janganlah dibiar,
Harga barang semakin melambung,
Apakah nasib rakyat malaysia? "

Say hello again to my long departed friend,Rumusan. How I miss you not. AND say hello to its annoying counterpart, THE FORMAT. i hate formats. it makes me feel so conformed Karangan is fine. Rumusan however is not.

We had something different from our usual bahasa melayu syllabus in secondary school though. I think it's called translasi.

Basically, all you do is to translate a paragraph in english to Bahasa.
GREAT!!The lecturer told us this is his favorite part of the paper. Why? Here's are some stories of his past experiences.

STORY 1

Question:
Two poaches who ventured into a jungle several days ago were consequently eaten by two malayan tigers.

Answer:
Dua ekor harimau liar telah dimakan oleh dua orang pemburu beberapa hari yang lalu.

STORY 2

Question:
One of the most vital parts of our body is the liver.

Answer:
Salah satu bahagian penting dalam badan kita adalah penghidup

WTH?!! haha, actually damn creative also. live-r

Be careful what you wish for

They say boredom kills. Not in a slow way mind you. It consumes you before proceeding to engulf you in a cloud of confusion, misery and hopelessness. You feel worried that it'll be never ending. You start to fret. AND then you proceed to do really moronic things TO MAKE SURE YOU WON'T BE BORED.

Which is EXACTLY what I did. dammit.

Due to the rather loose timetable that I have this semester, business studies students are lucky idoits I decided to join yet another additional cocurricular activity on top of the other two I'm currently taking.

Three alot meh? By tarc standards, yes. We are actually needed to attend only ONE. Only I keh poh, join three. And attendence is complusory due to the fact that I'M PAYING for the classes. Aduhai.

Just when I had just happily signed up for the third cocurricular activity, I received an sms from the FAU commitee chairperson for an interview to be a part of the organising commitee for the upcoming annual general meeting.

So i thought.
1.Okay
2.Fine
3.I'll go.

haha! Gosh, I sound like my grey matter covers less than the usual 30% of the brain. Or like some sort of microorganisma unisel. If their nucleuses enable them to think that is. Can they think? Whatever. Lets get back to the topic.

So off I went for the interview. Bloody happy somemore kena selected.
This was yesterday.

MANATAU
When I woke up this morning, the first thing I read (groggily) was this message from our dear commander sir.

"Hey. I'm the NBDD's (November Blood Donation Drive) vice-chair. Please head over to the FAU room for an interview for Organising commitee for this event from 10-12 pm. Thank You."

-.-' So i went for the second interview in 24 hours.

I only got to understand the full capacity of what I'm getting myself into when:

Mr interviewer: Do you know that preparations need to be done prior 2-4 weeks from the event? And that you might have to stay back after classes/weekends then?

me : no... (remembers calender)
wait. The NBDD is just two weeks before the annual meeting!!

Mr interviewer: *nods assuringly* It'll be fine. Seriously, the timetable
won't clash. Can you do it if you are chosen for both?

me: ...... *gulps* I'll try manage if I really get chosen...

O.M.F.G
I know its good experience and all if I get chosen for both. One definately more relaxing la. But what if both?! I'm kinda worried it might affect my 2 other cocurricular activities? AND my studies? Some more cannot balik kampung so often.

What to you all think?
(p.s: eh if got account can post comments on the posts in the comments area?)

Piracy causes music industry to lose their marbles

Went to watch devil wears prada today at KLCC with my coursemates. Gosh! I wanna be like Miranda when I grow up!!! (except for the whole divorse thing..)

After the movie we decided to drop by Tower Records.
(Random note: evanescence's latest album, The Open Door is out!! buy, beg, steal!! You must get it!!! shove )

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Sadly though, the idea of running into a CD shop hardly appeals to me as much to me now as it did several years back. Then, I was like a little kid running wild in a candy store. Or like a shopaholic running mad in a mall with a platinum card which cannot be max-ed. oh the joy~~!

Now, I just feel damn sien. I suppose using too much Limewire does that to you. Yalar, I confess that I'm guilty of software piracy. So what? EVERY SINGLE SOUL I know does that as well. Yes, we know it's illegal. But seriously, does ANYONE besides the music companies and artists really care? Even our dear goverment is also doing a half-assed job trying to curb with this problem.

To put to simply : It's too widespread to curb.

Yes, I feel guilty.
Yes, I know its illegal.

Does that make me wanna stop downloading?
heck, no!!

The prices of most CDs are so freaking expensive that I actually buy it, I'd feel even more guiltier for spending my parents hard earned ringgit on something which I could live without. I ONLY buy originals when I actually ADORE the artist very very much. If not, download saje.

Bet recording labels are having a MAJOR headache trying to deal with this issue. They have to try to come out with new, innovative and bright ideas on how to market their products to make the album so desirable that we'd do anything in our abilities to obtain said album. Be it pre-ordering the album, camping outside the music store before the launch, beg for it and maybe even KILL for it.

Sad to say, from what I see today at Tower records, these people aren't really doing their jobs very well. Check this out.

Wahai fellow readers,
I've come to a conclusion today while sitting the ktm.

I've decided I'm officially leading a nomadic lifestyle.
so technically I'm a nomad

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
without the camel of course

So can say that the public transport has become a vital part in my life now. Not that I'm complaining. Nope. I like using the ktm and Lrt. I like observing people. Not in a stalker way of course but I find it interesting to sit back and observe others and blank out my thoughts about myself and well, anything that relate to me.Basically get away from myself for awhile.

Am I making sense?
if it does, good.
if not.... read on anyway. I don't plan to get anymore confusing.
Life's confusing enough without me confusing it anymore.

Anyway, I noticed a trend amongst ktm/lrt users in our country. Seems to me many public transport users have unusually high levels of affection towards their handphones and pdas. I love my phone with all its metallic slendor and all but heck, I've seen people who can sms all the way from klang to KL central.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
might as well surgically attach to fingers la.. then sleep also can sms

This isn't really all that annoying, at least they are minding their own business. somemore can exercise the fingers Now another group which I'm inclined to name them as hand phone flashers are worst.

I know its normal to sayang your beloved piece of metal when its brand new, sparkly, unscratched and basically untouched. Especially when it still has a layer of plastic still covering the screen. You go through bouts of euphoria just OPENING the packaging. You bring it EVERYWHERE. You show it to EVERYONE. You go into hysterics when it gets scratched. You are afraid of even leaving it unattended for a SECOND in case it suddenly does a houdini act. aduhai, sound like treating handphone like lou poh.

I call this post-newhandphone syndromne. It affects all, young and old. Thankfully, the effects wear off after several weeks after usage of said handphone.

That is if you are normal. However, there are still those who are inclined to hang their handphones around their neck or their wrist and play the same song in their playlist FULL BLAST OVER AND OVER AGAIN even though the model is slightly older. For god sake, did nokia/sony errisson/motorola pay you a fat cheque to advertise their sound systems??!!

Then there are those annoying people who use RINGTONES for their sms-es. Eh, RINGTONES are for CALLS. Not blardy sms-es!! Some people even have the nerve to continue sms-ing numerous times and set volume at max!! GRR! Some even pretend to 'misplace' their phones just to get attention to their super yeng true tone handphone. Enough la, no big deal, even aunties use k800i now

With cameras in built into phones now, a small minority even start ji-pai-ing in the ktm/lrt when bored. Sigh, camwhores just can't resist any opportunity to snap a picture of themselves. Never get sick of own face meh??

Gosh. As usual, I've written far more then i initially wanted. I'm signing off now. I don't care if this seems abrupt. I'm not big on ideas when I'm sleepy. So goodnite! or good morning, whichever is applicable

After spending several days living in the outdoors with our dear distant relatives-the monkeys, I have come to develope a higher and finer apprecation for all things that run on electricity, is shiny and have a screen. And I have also grew fonder of my tilam. Yes, it is indeed enlightening to be finally reunited with civilization.hurray!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

DESPITE-

-Despite the three minute baths ONCE a day,
-Despite being awaken at three in the morning for a game,
-Despite having to cramp with four other people in a tiny camp,
-Despite having to stand outside during a thunderstorm due to the fact my camp turned into a mini waterbed dammit,

-Despite having to hold back tears while cooking from a mini inferno,
-Despite having to drink purple seaweed soup,
-Despite having to sacrifice my beloved pair of sneakers,
-Despite suspecting I've developed a lifelong phobia of the sound of whistles commander, sir i forgive you,

-Despite having to sing "lang hua yi duo duo" ABOUT A MILLION TIMES,
-Despite the monkeys stealing part of our lunch,
-Despite having to run up AND down the hill about 5 times a day,
-Despite being drenched from head to toe in a jolly combination of water, flour, toothpaste and mud.....

I ENJOYED MYSELF.
I'M NOT SUFFERING FROM A CONCUSSION.
I speak THE TRUTH AND ONLY NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH.

I REALLY REALLY ENJOYED IT.

In case you are wondering, sweetmotherofheaven how can you possibly live through that ordeal AND ACTUALLY ENJOYED IT? SADASTIC FREAK I am not. I don't deny there were moments where I found it was too challenging and started to wonder if this was all a huge mistake. But to tell the truth, there wasn't much time to brood about well, ANYTHING. They made sure we were kept busy the whole day.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Any busier I would have to resort to using a straw to eat.

Sure, it was an exausting 102 hours/6120 minutes/367200 seconds, but heck the experience was worth it. Who cares if I had less than 5 hours sleep everyday? if my grandmother can do it, so can I!!

On another note, next semester is coming up!!
AND I STILL HAVEN'T LAZED AROUND ENOUGH!!!
I need more T.I.M.E

Just when you thought things couldn't get weirder

After getting dismissed from our final and last meeting before heading off to camp, me and my team mates headed off to gather firewood and some dry leaves around the tarc campus area. who says KL has no firewood? Anyway, being very impatient and unreasonable people as we are, we tried to finish the task as quickly as possible just so to get our lazy arses back home and sleep.

So we took the easy way out and searched only for huge branches.

Luck must have been playing a joke on us or something cause we did indeed find a small fallen tree around tarc main entrance. Problem was, we didnt have a knife with us. So what did we do? Try to break it la. Takkan just sit and stare right? So we jumped on the tree trunk. But still cannot break. wtf-ness.

I suppose we must have looked so stupid that a pak cik came out from his car and offered to help us by lending us with swiss army knife. Either that or he was suddenly hit by nostalgia from his camping trips as a young boy. But I'm kinda betting he helped us caused we looked so ridiculous Whatever. Point is, he came out to help us.

While my team mate was happily hacking away at the trunk, I galanced up and noticed that the pak cik was wearing a ntv7 badge.Do all ntv7 people travel with swiss army knives with them I wonder? So I asked him what brought him to this area? Smiling,he pointed at the tarc main entrance. AND I SAW THIS.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Taken with my handphone, edited with photoshop.

TARC CLEANING LADIES SEDANG MOGOK!!

Apparently the college hasn't given't them a pay raise in 30 years!! AND their pay is only RM 500 per month!! aduhai, so stingy. How to survive? So, armed with manila cardboards of various colors and sizes, they protest LAR!! kesian, puasa also need to mogok They asked people to honk as a sign of support. I however, with no car to honk, just gave them a thumbs up.

I knew there was something amiss when I entered the toilet and saw approximately twenty cleaning ladies putting makeup and adjusting their hair this morning.

Ceh, now I know. They were dolling up for the media!

This is my last entry before heading off the the LTC (leader-sheep training camp in air keroh) Tomorrow, I'll be back in TBR because my team mates will be tumpang-ing at my house for a night.Bed and Breakfast kononnye.

Will be back by thursday evening. Handphones are strictly prohibited so yes, I will be M.I.A (missing in action) for several days.no handphones. no internet. no radio. no watches. and yes, this is a real camp where you need to start your own fire and and cook your own food.ITS LIKE SURVIVOR!! (with toilets!)

This is gonna be so different from the other camps I went to. (All of them were convieniently held in hotels with ROOM SERVICE. haha! very atas huh?) Anyway, wish me luck!

Just fucking tired.

Today

Home (klang)> Teluk Gadong KTM station > KL central > Wangsa Maju LRT > Team mate's house at Melawati > KFC > Carrefour > Team mate's house again > Wangsa Maju LRT > KL central > Teluk Gadong station > HOME (klang)

duration : 8 am to 9 pm.

Fun? yes.
Tiring? yes. bloody hell.

My day started with me being all happyhappyjoyjoy and ending with me feeling all pissed, mad, frustrated and yes. tired. (its not my team mates fault. it's some other people. so don't send yakuza after them kie?)

when I'm unhappy.
I draw.
I draw not-so-happy pictures.
To make my unhappy self feel happier.
Irony no?

whatever.
I'm too tired to explain anyway.
blah.
I'll blog about the camp tomorrow.

Topic of my drawings.
Death and/or innocence.

FYI.

what you see don't represent me as a whole.
it just represents me when I'm pissed.

Drawing is my therapy.
p.s : yes, i have happy drawings too
