Cha Cha Cha anyone?

Latin dance. It is beautiful, quick paced, graceful, elegant and rather sexy. My relatives on my father's side are great supporters of the art. Damn, I even have uncles and aunties going for state level competitions in the past. My granddad was a good dancer himself. His favourite was the tango and chacha

Amazing no?
Unfortunately, I do not inherit the dancing genes.

Subject: mei kay
dancing mode: kayu

Anyway, I still couldnt resist the urge to learn a few basic steps when my classmates told me that I could learn it for FREE at menara alpha at wangsa maju on wednesday nights.

Location: Menara Alpha basement, wangsa maju
Time: 8.00 to 10.30 pm
Intructors: Ah Chua and this pretty girl. Forgot what is her name.

How did this started? Well, Ah Chua and the pretty girl (who are actually students of ktar and Utar respectively) are dancing partners were brought together by the love of dancing. So yeah, according to the girl they started practicing at the basement with some of their friends. Who then brought friends along to practice. And yeah, the whole thing kept repeating itself and in the end, they ended up teaching strangers.

Talk about one thing leading to another.

They are pretty amazing people as well. Ah Chua, who is studying Mechanical Engineering, practicises wushu and kungfu as well. Damn, he represented Sarawak one wei!! And to top it off, he is the assistant programme coordinator for the upcoming Talentine Night. He is not human.

The girl pulak studies CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGY of all things! Oh-my-god.

Although the lessons are currently free due to the fact that they havent reached the silver and gold cert yet, they might plan to charge a fee in the future. Not much, perhaps just 5 bucks per person for a month. And if the response from the tarc hostel and tbr area is good, they might open a class in dkabe there. So you dont have mirrors like some dance studios where you can correct yourself, you can just learn the some steps and practice it at home later.

And yeah, the instructors are so nice despite they are teaching all the kayus for free. Talk about passion.

For those kayu who dont want to remain kayu-s anymore, please head over to menara alpha. next semester lessons start on the 6th June, wednesday.

For those who are good already, head over as well as they are looking for people to perform for the upcoming Talentine night.

If keh poh, also can head over.

Its pretty amazing that in these material world, such acts done by students in the name of passion and interest is as rare as finding a police officer that does not accept bribes. As rare as a pengetua that does not give boring long winded speeches.

Just so bloody rare.
